Who We Are

The Youth Steering Committee of Upper St. Clair (YSC) was formed in the 1980s primarily to address alcohol and substance abuse issues facing the community's youth and families.  Over the years, the focus has expanded and evolved to include issues relevant to today's kids, including safe use of technology, mental health issues, vaping, stress management and more.

YSC is a Community Action Group whose members are jointly appointed by the Upper St. Clair Board of Commissioners and the Board of School Directors. Committee members include adult residents, high school students, parents, a professional counselor or psychologist, and representatives from both appointing Boards.
